Where is UQ?

UQ has three campuses in and around Brisbane, the capital city of the state of Queensland. Brisbane is the third-largest city in Australia, after Sydney and Melbourne, and it has a multicultural population of around 2.2 million people.
Brisbane has hosted many large-scale cultural and sporting events, including the 2014 G20 Leaders’ Summit, the Rugby World Cup and the Commonwealth Games.

*UQ consistently ranks in the world’s top universities, as measured by several key independent rankings, including the Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities (41), the US News Best Global Universities Rankings (45), QS World University Rankings (47), Academic Ranking of World Universities (55), and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (65). Excluding the award component, UQ is now ranked 45th in the world in the ARWU, and is one of only two Australian universities to be included in the global top 50.
According to the QS World University Subject Rankings 2017, UQ ranks number one in Australia in both environmental sciences and agriculture and forestry. Six UQ subjects rank at number two in Australia including mining and mineral engineering, sports-related subjects, biological sciences, materials science, communication and media studies and hospitality and leisure management.
Globally, UQ is in the world’s top 20 universities in six subjects among them: mineral and mining engineering (3 globally), sports-related subjects (3), environmental sciences (12), hospitality and leisure management (12), education (14) and agriculture and forestry (19).
